Oil on Spark Plugs? Easy Fix

If you're getting oil on your spark plugs, the first thing you should check is your spark plug gaskets and valve cover gasket (sometimes these are combined as one gasket). If these gaskets look good and don't need replacing, the next likely cause of oil getting on your spark plugs is an issue within the combustion chamber like the piston rings or valves that are allowing oil to sneak thru and get onto the spark plugs. This scenario can be a much more extensive problem to fix but I would suggest first trying an engine cleaner solution that might help the piston rings and valves sit properly again and hold the oil back. #engine #sparkplug #mechanictips #diymechanic
