[HOW TO] Change Rear Differential Fluid on a 2019+ Silverado & Sierra(Axle Code SU7/SU8)

Changing the differential fluid is important on your vehicle for longevity of the gears. Especially in trucks that are used for towing/hauling heavy loads. This video shows how to change the fluid in a 2022 Silverado LTD. This truck is equipped with the SU7 axle manufactured by AAM. It has the GU6 3.42 axle ratio without the G80 locker. The process should be very similar to the SU8 axles manufactured by GM. If your truck is equipped with the G80 locker, do not add any additional LS additive to your fluid, but if the bottle says it contains it, you should be OK to use it. ================================================================= SU7 Axle Specifications/Capacities Fluid capacity is approximately 3 quarts. Fill until the fluid comes out of the fill plug. Replacement Gasket Part # 22943110. Replacement cover Part # 84553988 Differential Cover Bolt Torque - 15 ft/lbs + 20° ================================================================= SU8 Axle Specifications/Capacities Fluid capacity is approximately 3 quarts. Fill until the fluid comes out of the fill plug. Differential Cover Bolt Torque - 30 ft/lbs ================================================================= Both Axle fill plugs is 24 ft/lbs SU7/SU8 axles specified fluid viscosity is 75W85.
