10mm socket/wrench, screwdrivers, drain pan, gasket scraperi change the thermostate on a 2005 honda civic this is basically the same for all d17 engines , pretty simple procedure,
make sure car not warm and is cold or has cooled down
take off radiator cap
drain coolant if you want to just remove the lower house off the thermostat housing
2 10 mm bolts that need to be removed
remove old gasket and thermostat
install new gasket and thermostat ( long side with spring goes inside engine short rounded side goes in housing
make sure it sits flush and you dont have to force anything
bolt everything back up and bleed the system
