How To Change Oil & Filter Honda Civic 10th Gen 2016 2017 2018 2019 2020 2021 2022 Tutorial & Guide

Magnetic Oil Drain Plug Socket Set, Metric - 3870D 5. https://amzn.to/3nCKQSg | Race Ramps RR-XT-2 Low Profile Ramps (Two-piece design, Pack of 2) Or Click on Amazon link here and search for what you need: https://amzn.to/3xIOsqg This oil change was done on a 2017 Honda Civic EXL 4-door sedan but the process should be the same for all of 10th generations Civic which covers model years 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022 two and four doors coupe and hatchback (DX, EX regardless of whether 1.5L Turbo or 2.0L engine. Here are some of the steps in order to change oil in Civic. The first is to either jack the front of the car or drive the car on a ramp. You will also need to unlock the hood latch & hatch. Once the car has been raised, the next step involved removing the bottom engine cover, some call this "skid plate" or "splash shield" using screwdrivers. There are 4 phillips screws and 6 flathead screws. This video shows you exactly how to do that. Once the skid plate has been remove, you will need a ratcheting racket with a 17mm socket to loosen and remove the drain plug. After that you will need to use a special wrench to remove the oil filter. You could remove the filter first if that's what you prefer. There has been question on whether you can replace filter without draining the oil, and the answer is yes. This video discussed this topic in detail. Once the oil has been drained, replaced the crush washer on drain plug, apply some oil to the rubber on the filter and reinstall them. Honda recommends genuine parts but we choose to use Mobil 1 0W-20 synthetic oil and M1-110A filter, both of which guarantee up to 20,000 miles or 1 year. Oil capacity for the 1.5L 4-cylinder Turbo Earth Dream Technology engine is 3.4 - 3.7 quarts whereas for the 2.0L engine is 4.4 qts. The torque for the drain plug is 30 ft/lb. The tenth-generation Honda Civic (FC/FK) was first released in Nov 2015. Three body styles were introduced with a near-identical design which are sedan, hatchback, and coupe. There's also Type R version which is quite expensive. It has either 2.0-liter engine or the more powerful 1.5-liter turbocharged four. At the end of the day, there was no clear-cut answer as to which version is best. The 1.5L Earth Dreams engine uses gasoline direct injection GDI to increase horsepower while improving fuel economy. Like other GDI engines, the injectors are fed gas through a high-pressure fuel pump. The 1.5L VTEC TURBO combines its turbo charger with a direct injection system and variable valve timing mechanism, retaining all the fuel economy benefits of a small engine. As a result, it produces a feel of power that is smooth from low revs to the high end, exceeding the torque of a 2.4L engine. 10th gen Civic comes in 10 trims with different features & configurations - EX, EX-L, EX-L Navi, EX-T, LX, LX-P, Sport, Sport Touring & Touring.
