Here is a common problem I run into as a piano tuner. If the action in a grand piano won’t slide back into place, it is possible it is stuck in the cheek block. In the summer, the wooden cheek blocks can swell due to too much humidity. This can cause the action to bind on the action guide in the cheek block. Just turning the cheek block screws a hair can sometimes release this pressure and quickly solve the problem. I am a registered piano technicians with over 29 years of service. Piano tuning is the primary thing I do. I also sell and rebuild pianos. Check out my website preludemusiccenter.com
