Ford F-150 2015-2020Tools Needed
1/2 drive flex ratchet, long extensions, universal joint, refrigerant toolsI found a new compressor in March 2020 on Ebay for $55 shipped.
I didn't need one at the time, but living in Florida I knew I would need one sooner or later.
When I needed to top off the refrigerant every month I knew it was time to find the leak.
I used the 1/2 drive flex ratchet to loosen the belt tension from under the truck, more room than above!
I used long extensions and a universal to remove the hose manifold bolt from the top.
Removing the idler arm gave me plenty of room to pull out below the radiator.
Before you replace the compressor be sure to put the rear bolt in, the cross member is in the way to put the bolt in after it is in place.
Be sure to add the correct oil, and quantity, you can find the specs online.
The is a 1997 F150 4.6 2wd.
I didn't check if the 4wd cross member is similar.
