No Swipe Needed ➡️ to see progress of the kitchen hood vent! Per usual, this was a 100% DIY project. Dad and I built the hood vent frame out of 3/4 inch plywood then mounted it to the wall. Next, we covered it in Sheetrock that’s rated for bathrooms. Then my amazing countertop installer gave me my 18” backsplash with a small ledge on top….. I’m just gonna say, I LOVE this feature in my kitchen!!! It’s something you’ll find in old cottages and it’s so incredibly functional AND pretty! Next, we tiled then we did a faux Venetian plaster on the vent hood. Let me tell ya- there’s a serious learning curve with this stuff. I feel like I really got the hang of it at the end. Finally, we wrapped the hood vent in white oak and installed my awesome brass lights that finish the space by adding to the stunning focal point all of these elements provide. I STILL need crown molding and floors, but we’re so close to being done with this kitchen renovation! I still have an entire house to remodel, so there will be plenty more pics in the future 😊 #coastal #diy #fixerupper #remodel #renovation #coastalliving #coastalgrandmother #modernfarmhouse #farmhouse #shiplap #bonusroom #hgtv #joannagaines #shiplap #whiteoak #ceiling #beforeandafter #transformation #tips #interiordesign
