If the oils from your hands come in contact with the element, it will leave the igniter unusable. Tools Needed: - Flat Head Screwdriver - 3/8 Wrench - Phillips Head Screwdriver - 1/4" Nut Driver - Wire Cutters - Blade Step by Step how to instructions for replacing the Igniter (part number 5303935066) in a Kenmore Range (model number 79070102400) 1. Unplug range & shut off the gas 2. Open oven door 3. Remove racks, set aside 4. Remove screws securing bottom panel 5. Lift up & slide out bottom panel to remove 6. Remove bolt securing Flame Spreader 7. Remove flame spreader 8. Push out bottom drawer 9. Remove screw securing metal frame w/ Phillips Head screwdriver 10. Slide frame across wire to access wire clip 11. Press down on tab to release wire clip & pull out to disconnect 12. Remove nut securing igniter 13. Disconnect wires using Flat Head screwdriver **The new igniter will not have the connections needed to hook it up to your range. We will be using the connections from the old igniter, by removing them and wiring them to the new igniter 14. Cut left wire off of the old igniter 15. Trim the end off of the left wire on the new igniter 16. Strip the end of the piece you cut off the old igniter and the left wire still connected to the new igniter 17. Twist the exposed wire ends together 18. Screw on wire nut over exposed ends to secure 19. Repeat steps 14 - 18 on the right wires (this wire will have the wire harness clip) 20. Check that the wire nuts are secure 21. Attach the new igniter, securing with nut 22. Reconnect the wires and slide the grey covers over the connections 23. Feed the wire harness through the opening in the metal frame 24. Clip the harness back into place 25. Secure the metal frame 26. Replace the flame spreader & secure 27. Slide bottom panel back into place & secure 28. Replace oven racks 29. Shut bottom drawer 30. Shut the oven door 31.
