Jack, Jack stands, Socket set, Ball joint press, Alignment equipmentA ball joint with a lot of wear and tear is very loose and loud. Any detectable play means the joint is badly needing replacement. Replacing in pairs is always the best repair. But if only one is needed that is ok too. Don't forget the alignment after repairs.
