Amana / Maytag Washer Not Spinning - How to Test, Replace and Bypass the Lid Switch

If you have an Amana or Maytag washer that is not spinning the lid switch may be broken and needs replaced. In this video I show you how to test, remove and replace the switch to so your washer will spin again. One more thing in this video is if you do not want to wait for the new part to arrive and you need to get some laundry done, I show you how to bypass the lid switch. Bypassing the lid switch is dangerous, so keep that in mind. The washer will not stop spinning when you open the lid. You will have to push the timer knob in to get it to stop.
