14mm spark plug socket, magnetic socket, spark plug socket kitHow to change the 4 spark plugs on a 2017 Honda Civic 1.8 turbo EX-T.
I bought NGK laser iridium (ILZKAR8H8S, 95112) at RockAuto. They came with the right gap already. I used a magnetic 14mm spark plug socket. It makes the job really easy. Amazon sells a kit of 14mm and 16mm that other cars use like my 2013 Odyssey and 2014 Civic.
The old spark plugs had 90,000 miles on it.
In the video I show the spark plug boots completely dry. If you see oil in the boot, it means you have a leak on the O-rings and must fix it as soon as possible.
Adding dielectric grease between the spark plug ceramic and the boot prevents moisture getting into the spark plug’s connections.
