Replacing the transmission filter prior to doing a complete system flush of the automatic transmission on a 2016 Ford F150 with a 6-speed automatic (6R80).

Ford recommends a complete system fluid exchange be done at 150,000 miles. However, my vehicle only had 95,000 miles on it, and I found the fluid condition quite poor.

Tools: 19mm wrench, 8mm socket, inch-pound torque wrench, 5-gallon bucket pump (optional)
Parts: approx 5 qts Mercon LV, pan gasket (Fel-Pro TOS18753), transmission filter (Motorcraft FT188 or FT-200 depending on start/stop feature: best to check with dealer), brake/parts cleaner, Permatex medium strength threadlocker BLUE
