Jack, Jack stands, Diagnostic tool, Socket set, WrenchJack up the vehicle and secure it on jack stands. Remove the rear wheel.
Use a diagnostic tool to put the electronic parking brake system into service mode. This will allow you to disconnect the parking brake motor without causing any issues.
Locate the parking brake motor and disconnect it from the caliper.
Remove the bolts that hold the caliper to the bracket and remove the caliper.
Use a tool to retract the parking brake piston and brake caliper. This may involve using a tool to push the piston back into the caliper.
Remove the old brake pads from the caliper.
Clean the caliper and bracket to remove any dirt or debris.
Install new brake pads into the caliper.
Reattach the parking brake actuator and any other disconnected parts. Make sure all bolts are tightened to the correct specifications.
