How to Change / Replace / Install Rav4 Alternator (2013 - 2018)

In this video you'll learn how to change the alternator in your 2013-2018 Toyota Rav4. Whether you're re-installing your existing alternator or replacing it with a new one, this video will help you out. Next video we return to motorcycle projects! I'm not going to link out to recommended replacement alternators mainly because there are a few options. I recommend checking out Rock Auto or your local parts supplier and using their tools to find the proper replacement for your Rav4. Amazon list some options... but not many, PLUS, you can save some money by trading in your old alternator and being reimbursed for your "core charge." This video does have a couple of short comings: 1) No torque values for bolts. Most of them are finger tight/hand tight with no need to CRANK them on. If I find the values I will update this description. 2) I neglected to show the part where I removed the box end of the wrench that was helping hold the auto-tensioner open a bit. 3) INSPECT THE SERPENTINE BELT (drive belt)! If it's cracked or worn, this is the time to replace it with a new one.
