🪚How To Prune Overgrown Shrubs: Don't Be Afraid!💪

PLEASE do not plant shrubs too close together. If you want that nice full look quickly, plant perennials (the kind of plants that come back year after year). Be kind to your future selves or anyone who will be living in your home after you’re gone. These were overgrown because the homeowners weren’t sure what to do with them when they moved in. Understandable. This can be intimidating. However, major pruning like this is not usually needed if things are spaced appropriately. Read the tags and plant accordingly. And prune routinely as needed. Occasionally even we’ll-spaced shrubs need routine pruning. If you have shrubs like this in your yard and you’re not sure what to do about it, the best thing you can do is to just get out there and be brave. I think I can smell the plant carnage from my house.😄 When? We did this is late July. It’s fine. The “best” time is very early spring but we are living in real life and that’s not always possible so just get out there when you have the time.
