In this episode, we’re working on an A2485 M1 16-inch MacBook Pro for a battery replacement. 00:40 - Opening the Back Case Remove the bottom screws using a P5 screwdriver. Use a plastic spudger to lift and remove the bottom case. 01:31 - Disconnect Trackpad Flex Cable Use a T3 screwdriver to remove the trackpad bracket screws, then disconnect the trackpad flex cable and battery daughterboard cable. 02:24 - Disconnecting Battery Power Remove the pancake screw with a T5 screwdriver. Disconnect the battery from the logic board and drain any remaining charge by pressing the power button for 10 seconds. 03:01 - Disconnect Battery Board Unplug the battery board cables and remove the two T5 screws securing it. 04:05 - Removing Battery Pull Tabs Start removing adhesive pull tabs from under the battery cells using tweezers. Handle with extreme care to avoid puncturing the battery. 06:53 - Continue Removing Pull Tabs Work methodically through each cell’s pull tabs using a plastic spudger and tweezers. Be patient and avoid rushing. 08:14 - Access Remaining Battery Cells To access the final two battery cells, remove the trackpad by unscrewing the T5 screws and gently lifting it out. 09:39 - Final Pull Tabs Under Trackpad With the trackpad out, remove the remaining pull tabs to fully release the battery. Carefully pry the battery out if needed. 11:09 - Battery Removal Complete The battery is fully removed. Take your time to ensure proper placement. 15:32 - Reinstalling Trackpad Reconnect and realign the trackpad, then secure it with screws. Reconnect the trackpad flex cable and secure the brackets. 17:19 - Final Assembly Reconnect the battery flex cable and reinstall the pancake screw. Reattach all remaining brackets and cables. 18:01 - Closing the MacBook Put the bottom case back on and reinstall all screws. Make sure the battery is properly seated before closing. 19:20 - Power-On Test & Outro Power on the MacBook to ensure the repair was successful.
