This video shows exactly where the cartridge goes and how to seat it right the first time.

PRO TIP: The ears on the Delta cartridge must face up (toward 12 o'clock) when you slide it in. The notch on the bottom of the cartridge aligns with a tab inside the valve body — if you feel resistance, stop and recheck orientation before forcing it.
