I replaced the old fill valve with the Fluidmaster PerforMAX. It's important to turn off the shutoff valve and completely drain the tank. I inspect the new rubber gasket, adjust the float height, and install the valve. The tank's water level should be roughly 1/2 inch below the overflow pipe.
